Building Dreams Campaign

The Genesis Club Building Dreams Campaign began in 2008,

with the celebration of the Genesis Club 20th Anniversary.

The Building Dreams Campaign is a grassroots approach to increasing community awareness of the mission of the Genesis Club. It involves inviting leaders from our community in for tours of our agency, going out to area businesses to speak about our mission, and joining friends and neighbors in local events to iincrease awareness of the stigma people struggling with mental illnesses encounter.

Building Dreams Tours

The Genesis Club Building Dreams Tours are a once a month open house which truly immerses guests into the experience of Genesis Club. This tour is open to anyone in the community who would like to learn more about us. The tour includes meeting great members and staff, hearing stories of recovery, and touring the beautiful Genesis building. We encourage everyone to come through our Building Dreams Tour, even if you think you know us, we assure you, you will come away from this experience with a new view on Genesis Club.

The structured tours last one hour and are usually scheduled from 10 to 11 am on Wednesdays. For folks planning on attending a tour, please allow a few minutes to park, as we always start promptly at 10 am. These tours are not the same as a referral or potential membership tour. They were developed for community and family members to learn more about our mission.

Dream Builders Volunteer Group

The Genesis Club has periodic opportunities for community members to join us for special projects. Whether it's a painting project or yard cleanup, we are always looking for volunteers to help when large projects arise. These projects are either at the Genesis Club on Lincoln Street or our Guest House on Shaffner street (about a block away). Prior to joining the Dream Builders Volunteer Group, we ask that you attend a Building Dreams Tour. Information on some of our annual community events, please click here.

Building Dreams Breakfast

In 2008, Genesis Club celebrated twenty years of service to individuals with mental illness. Our celebration culminated with a breakfast fundraiser. A morning filled with friends, testimonials and song was well received. The overwhelming support and feedback we received by our supporters made us encouraged us to continue this tradition each Fall. We are always looking for individuals who wish to join us on this day, as table captains, guests, or volunteers. To see pictures from the most recent breakfast, click here.

Dream Builders Society

Also in 2008, Genesis Club launched our newest fundraising initiative called the "Dream Builders Society". This group was formed as an invitation for our donors to make a long term commitment to our agency. We have initiated this society as a means to recognize our major donors who are committed to the long term goals of Genesis Club.
