2010 Building Dreams Breakfast
In 2008, Genesis Club celebrated twenty years of service to individuals with mental illness. Our celebration culminated with a breakfast fundraiser on November 13, 2008. A morning filled with friends, testimonials and song was well received by over 150 guests. We were overwhelmed by the support and feedback we received by our supporters. Genesis Club plans to continue this tradition on October 28, 2010, 7:30am - 9:00am

The Genesis Club Building Dreams Breakfast has become an annual celebration of the nonprofit’s successes and needs. Through member testimonies, multimedia experiences, music of folk singer Meg Huchinson, and inspiring speakers, the Genesis Club mission is delightfully portrayed during this passionate and heartfelt one hour event. The event is a major component of the Genesis Club Building Dreams Campaign, a grassroots public relations initiative. This event also offers an opportunity for Genesis Club to raise unrestricted funds to further our long term mission of supporting individuals with severe mental illness.
The 2010 Major Presenting Sponsor of the Genesis Club Building Dreams Breakfast will be UMass Medical School, Commonwealth Medicine. For over 20 years, this great Worcester-area institution has been a proud supporter and advocate of individuals with disabilities returning to the workforce. Today there are 22 Genesis members currently working at UMass Medical School, Commonwealth Medicine division – within the Center for Mental Health Services Research, and the Center for Health Policy and Research. These are only a few areas in which the strong relationship with Commonwealth Medicine and Genesis Club can be seen.
With UMass Medical School, Commonwealth Medicine as Genesis Club’s only major presenting sponsor, the two agencies will stand together in offering this event to the community. Genesis Club will share with their guests, the various accomplishments UMass Medical Schools and Genesis Club have achieved. This sponsorship is also part of an ongoing effort to build awareness of Genesis Club, fight the stigma that comes with living with a mental illness, and publicly display the strong relationship between these two great Worcester institutions.

- Dream Builders Society
Also in 2008, Genesis Club launched our newest fundraising initiative called the "Dream Builders Society". This group was formed as an invitation for our donors to make a long term commitment to our agency. We have initiated this society as a means to recognize our major donors who are committed to the long term goals of Genesis Club. We truly apprecite the commitment to our agency's long term goals.

- Building Dreams Tours
The Genesis Club Building Dreams Tours are a twice a month open house, which truly immerses guests into the experience of Genesis Club. This tour is open to anyone in the community who would like to learn more about us. The tour includes meeting great members and staff, hearing stories of recovery, and touring the beautiful Genesis building. We encourage everyone to come through our Building Dreams Tour, even if you think you know us, we assure you, you will come away from this experience with a new view on Genesis Club.
The structured tour lasts one hour and is usually scheduled from 10am - 11am on Wednesdays. For folks planning on attending a tour, please allow a few minutes to park, as we always start promptly at 10am. These tours are not the same as a referral or potential membership tour. they are based for community and family members to learn more about our mission.
