The kitchen unit is responsible for cooking, cleaning, planning, and shopping for the meals that are prepared at the clubhouse.
Each day meals are prepared from scratch to serve the approximately sixty plus clubhouse members that can be found in the dining room on any given day.
All members have the oportunity to participate in the menu planning of the meals to be served at the clubhouse.
The unit aims to create healthy, low cost meals that taste good as well as being nutritious. This includes offering a vegetarian option and accommodation for those with food allergies.
Skills learned in the kitchen unit include making dishes and desserts, working with others, and catering to other members. The unit strongly emphasizes maintaining an overall friendly atmosphere and focuses on safety and hygiene.
The unit also supports the nutrition portion of wellness, planning and preparing our weekly wellness dinner.
