




Three day Orientations are offered every other week and enable new members to experience the work of each unit and meet other members and staff. After completing Orientation the new members is asked to pick a specific unit in which to focus his/her activities when at Genesis Club.
Membership Services also oversees the club's Outreach Program. Locations and Agencies visited include:
- UMass Psychiatric Unit (8East)
- UMass Psychiatric Treatment Center (PTC)
- St. Vincent Hospital Psychiatric Services
- UMass Psychiatric Outpatient Services (Farmhouse)
- South Bay Mental Heath Clinic
- Community Health Link (CHL)
Memberships Services coordinates the Clubhouse' Peer Support Initiative. Funded by the Massachusetts Behavioral Health Partnership. the program hospitalizations of MBHP provides intensive supports upon hospital discharge in the following areas:
- Home visits and telephone outreach
- Access to community supports which may include social, educational and employment services
- Strengthening independent living
- Improving self advocacy skills
- Increasing awareness about mental health, substance abuse
- Increasing the support network of peers
Individuals receiving peer support are eligible for these services for a period of 60-90 days and do not have to be Genesis Members.

The Membership Unit conducts tours for prospective members and visitors, hosts Orientation for new members and coordinates a large outreach program. Tours are led by clubhouse members and include brief overviews of each of our seven units by members and staff engaged in unit work.
